Senior Development Geologist

Career

Forty years of oil and gas experience since graduating with Honours Applied Geology, University of Waterloo, working with both major and smaller independent companies.  Thirty years of international experience, working properties in Yemen, Qatar, Oman, Indonesia, Madagascar and Kurdistan having both exploration and development opportunities.  Discovered hundreds of millions of barrels recoverable oil and over a TCF of natural gas from recognizing by-passed pay opportunities, from conducting exploration and from field appraisal and development activities.
Skills developed in both technical and corporate geological and geoscience work that includes regional assessment and prospect mapping, petrophysical evaluations, well data investigations and evaluations, drilling operations including wireline acquisition and final well documentation, assessing new venture and investment opportunities, plus significant partner and government presentations and reporting.  Have been geological manager of corporate oil and gas assets since 1993.
Projects specific to Yemen began with the preliminary exploration and development activities in CanOxy’s (Nexen) Block-14 in the early 1990’s, followed by Kappa’s Block-2 in 1996, followed by Calvalley Petroleum’s Block-9 from 2001 to 2008 and again from 2020 to present.
